Active Shooter Resources

Please review the following documents in the unlikely event of an active shooter situation on campus. Courtesy of the Michigan State University Police.

This link/document breaks down the steps on how to react to an active shooter situation and has the web address embedded in it for a training video: http://police.msu.edu/resources/activeShooter.pdf.

Additionally this link: https://www.msu.edu/~dpps/shotsfired/index.htm will go directly to the video.  You need to sign in with your NetID and password to use it (due to licensing issues, MSU Police can only allow MSU affiliated people to view it).

This link: http://www.msu.edu/celebrations/MSUPD-See-Something-Campus.pdf has information on how to submit tips to us via text message.  While this venue of communication is monitored 24/7, it is slower than a 911 call directly to dispatch as it comes to our students manning the cadet desk.

Finally, MSU Police can also accept non-emergent tips via Facebook https://www.facebook.com/msupolice or Twitter  https://twitter.com/msupolice. These are not monitored 24/7 and should never be used in an emergency, but are good resources nonetheless.
